All Significant Enhancements about iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini

The 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini are not the simple "slow belt" updates some people expect. Apple has made significant improvements to both models, including smaller gaps, better cameras and more storage space. And, of course, a faster processor. And none of this will increase the price.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini close the screen gap. While most iPhone users are used to this trim, no one will object to it shrinking in width. It's 20% smaller than previous Apple phones.

The display is up to 28% brighter. It can reach up to 800 nits when used outdoors.

But many of the features of these two phones are the same as those of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. This includes screen size and resolution.

Faster performance and longer battery life
Apple has upgraded processors in every continuous phone, and 2021 is no exception. The A15 Bionic is a 6-core with a pair of high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores to reduce battery consumption. There is also a 4-core GPU. "It's the fastest CPU and all smartphones, 50 percent faster than its leading competitors in graphics-intensive tasks like advanced gaming," Apple said.

When it comes to speed, the iPhone 13 Series has more 5G bands, enabling it to connect to other high-speed networks around the world. By the end of 2021, these phones will support 200 operators in 60 countries.

Performance doesn't make sense when the battery runs out. Larger batteries and improvements to the processor and screen make these new models more chargeable. Apple promises a maximum of 2.5 hours on a 6.1-inch iPhone 13 charge, while the iPhone 13 mini will take an additional 1.5 hours.

These devices are still charging wirelessly via the Lightning port or MagSafe.

Add portrait mode to your video
Turn the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini over and you'll see that the camera humps have been rearranged and the lenses are diagonally arranged. There is now a 12MP wide-angle camera with a new 1.7 um sensor and f/1.6 aperture. Apple is committed to better low-light performance and a 47% increase in spotlight capability.

The 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera has a faster sensor and f/2.4 aperture. It covers a 120-degree field of view. But the highlight of the camera in these phones is the movie mode, which is the video portrait mode. The camera focuses on the character and blurs the background. Users can choose who to follow or have the camera work with facial recognition. The basic models of these iPhone 13 versions have Sensor Shift lens stabilization technology, which was previously available only on Pro models.

Those looking for extra camera features should turn to the iPhone 13 Pro Series.

Get more storage at the same price
Last year's 6.1-inch iPhone 12 debuted for $799 with 64GB of storage. The iPhone 12 mini of the same capacity costs $699. The 2021 models are available at the same price, but have 128GB of storage. Apple has abandoned the 64GB version to double its capacity at the same cost.

There are also new colors. The 2021 series is available in pink, blue, midnight, starlight and (product) red.

Bookings start on Friday, September 17, and customers receive the first products on September 24. If the iPhone 12 Series turns out to be a reliable predictor, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 will be the second most popular model in Apple's new model, after the iPhone 13 Pro Max. But sales of the mini-series are not good, and 2021 is said to be Apple's last 5.4-inch phone.
